A Community-Owned Wildlife Corridor to Tsavo
LUMO Community Wildlife Sanctuary takes its name from the Lualenyi, Mramba and Oza group ranches that united to form it. Wedged between Tsavo East, Tsavo West and the Taita Hills, its 48,000 acres form a vital migration corridor for elephant and lion moving between Kenya and Tanzania’s Mkomazi Reserve. Entirely community-owned and run, it channels tourism revenue directly into local schools, health facilities and ranger jobs.
